MISSION SCHOLARSHIPS

Glen Mar is firmly committed to praising God, growing disciples, and serving the world by sponsoring Mission Trips to both domestic and international destinations. We also believe that celebrating God’s call to serve the world by participating in one of Glen Mar’s mission trips should not be hindered by a shortage of financial resources. To this end, Glen Mar makes available a Mission Trip Scholarship Fund for both youth and adults for whom the cost of participating in a mission trip would be a hardship.

To fund the Mission Trip Scholarships and also supplement the overall mission trip budget, Glen Mar utilizes a variety of resources that generate “free” cash. These resources consist of several programs that include grocery, restaurant and merchant rebates; the sharing of Internet advertising dollars; the recycling (for cash) of used printer cartridges and cell phones; plus the recent addition of offering for sale merchant gift cards that also generate rebates.The Glen Mar congregation has been very generous in giving of their time and resources to support missions. For Youth and Adults who wish to receive scholarship funds to help supplement their Mission Trip, download and complete a Mission Scholarship Fund form (pdf).

Youth also have several opportunities to raise funds for mission trips. They can ask to be designated on gift card forms as a specific recipient of funds, and can also participate in work programs like the Green Team. Church members make a bid for yard work or odd jobs and the money paid goes directly to a youth’s mission trip account.
