GRASSROOTS RT. 1 DAY RESOURCE CENTER

This ministry serves the homeless along the Rt. 1 corridor, providing showers, laundry, clothing, internet access, phone, mailing address, basic living supplies, conversation and referrals to social services. It is open Mondays 2-6 p.m., Wednesdays 4-8 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The Grassroots Rt. 1 Day Resource Center is located at 8826 Washington Blvd, Jessup, MD, 20794; phone 301.776.9900, email daycenter@verizon.net. A team of Glen Mar volunteers provides the lunch meal on the 4th Saturday of each month for approximately 70 people. Volunteers are needed to prepare one or more dishes.

• Current Needs: Clothing: men's jeans sizes 28 - 36, thermal underwear, and adult size, warm sleeping bags. Paper goods: heavy duty paper plates, cold cups, napkins, sugar or artificial sweetener.
