HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

Foremost in our hearts and minds at this time of tragedy are our brothers and sisters in Haiti. We are praying for the people affected by the earthquake which devastated the city of Port au Prince and are asking everyone to prayerfully consider donating to the United Methodist Committee on Relief, which is already at work on emergency relief efforts in Haiti.

Glen Mar is donating $1000 from the Mission Gift Card Fund to the UMCOR relief response. An anonymous donor has offered a matching gift up to $4000 for additional contributions from the congregation through January 25th. That means for every dollar that you give to UMCOR through Glen Mar UMC, your gift will be matched with an equal contribution - effectively doubling your donation!

You can donate online here or bring your donation to the church this week or next. Drop it off in the church office during the week or put in the offering plate on Sunday. Please make checks payable to Glen Mar UMC with UMCOR Haiti Relief in the memo line.

100% of your donations through UMCOR goes directly to benefit those in need of relief because the adminstration of UMCOR is funded through the apportionments of local churches. You can give and know that your money makes a direct impact on relieving the suffering experienced by our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Please continue in earnest prayer for all those affected by the earthquake.

You can read about how the United methodist Church is responding at the UMC web site. You can also post a prayer for those affected on the 10TousandDoors.org Facebook page.
