We are looking for a talented individual to fill a part-time Music Associate position at Glen Mar UMC. This position is salaried at $9,500 per year requiring approximately 10 hours per week to include rehearsals, worship and special services, and practice time. Responsibilities include:
- Leading 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship services on piano, keyboard and/or organ with a sensitivity to the flow of worship and a sensitivity to the movement of the Holy Spirit
- Leading worship as pianist, keyboardist or organist for special events/rehearsals and festival/seasonal worship services
- Rehearsing and accompanying Singers at 8:00 on a bi-monthly or weekly basis in order to lead the congregation and support the 8:00 a.m. Sunday worship service
- Coordinating, contacting, scheduling and rehearsing soloists/ensembles for 8:00 a.m. Sunday worship service to lead the congregation and support the worship
- Rehearsing and scheduling the youth bell choir (Band o' Bells)
- Accompanying the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Praise Service in the summer months (mid-July to mid-August)
- Reporting to and meeting monthly with the Director for Music for worship planning purposes, scheduling, and sharing discussions and communications about the vision and direction for Glen Mar's congregation and staff
- Substituting as director for handbell or vocal choirs as needed
- Submitting titles and composers for preludes, offertories and postludes planned for worship on Mondays preceding the Sunday services
- Playing for weddings and funerals (additional remuneration will be received and paid as paychecks are issued)
