WHAT WE BELIEVE

Core Beliefs
As members of Glen Mar United Methodist Church, we believe that:

• God is creator of all that is; God created humanity out of love and in God’s image, with the ability to love and be creative
• Jesus Christ is both fully divine and fully human. He died for our sins, and rose again that we might have eternal life.
• The Holy Spirit is God present in our midst and in us as a part of our daily lives
• The Bible is the inspired word of God, through which we come to know both God and our roles as disciples of Jesus Christ
• Salvation and forgiveness of sins is intended by God for all persons, and is available to all by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ
• The Church is Christ’s body on earth, and is called and equipped by God to carry out Christ’s ministry today.
• Prayer is a powerful means by which all can be in direct communication with God, and be open to God's guidance and inspiration
